The quality of the Human Capital infrastructure is a vital component of any progressive economy. It is however just as relevant to developing markets as they seek to emerge from cycle of poverty and trade competitively in global markets. Global Development organization and Multilateral donor organizations such as the UNDP and Worldbank, have recognized the contribution of IT skills, and in particular ICDL to building skill capacity in developing countries, and the role of digital skill in socio/economic development of these countries and the uptake and engagement of its citizens in the economy around them:. The selection of case studies below show how ICDL is being implemented in developing countries and the impact it is having on the local economies.
