Ohio Community Colleges

The Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) focuses on issues impacting Ohio community and technical colleges, and through dialogue with trustees and presidents, adapts solutions to fit the social, educational, and political landscape in the state. The Association represents some 640 Ohio School Districts whom have overall responsibility for 46,000 students within Ohio.

As an increasing number of jobs require better-than-entry level computer skills to succeed, the Ohio Association of Community Colleges has embarked on a campaign to advance the level of computing skills across the workforce and the student body at all levels of education by incorporating the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) into its program of education.

Columbus State Community College believe that some of the key advantages of the ICDL such as, a standard definition of 'basic computing skills', a standard syllabus (course outline) openly published and available to all educators and the globally validated, performance-based certification, enable computing users to demonstrate their skills, and acquire an internationally-recognized certification.
